Your hosts are sisters Helen and Jaye but chances are you will see glimpses of other family members Mark, Keith and Peter during your stay.
The location is stunning on the outskirts of the pretty Exmoor village of Challacombe, with fabulous views all around, a great pub and post office. There is good access via M5, A361 and A399. Once here you can easily reach the fabulous North Devon coast line with its long sandy beaches , National Trust properties Arlington Court and Dunster Castle , gardens Marwood and RHS Rosemoor, family attractions like Exmoor Zoo and The Big Sheep as well as pretty towns and villages including Lynton and Lynmouth. Exmoor National Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty and has an extensive network of footpaths and bridlepaths including the famous South West Coast path and The Tarka Trail which passes close by.
Bed and Breakfast is an average of £38 per person depending on which room you choose and how long you stay. There are eight en-suite rooms, all sympathetically converted in the old farmhouse or in the traditional stone barn. They are suitable for couples, families, individuals and groups and all have a tv, beverage tray, controllable central heating and wifi (rural high speed broadband). Well behaved dogs are allowed in some of the bedrooms. If you want to bring a bicycle there are barns to store them in, as well as stabling for your horse.
Breakfast at Twitchen Farm is a real treat, lovingly prepared and cooked to order using finest local and organic produce. There is always a selection of fresh fruit and yogurt as well as traditional Devon breakfast choices. Vegetarian options and special diets can be catered for.
The Black Venus pub, popular for its good food and fine ales, can be reached by a pleasant walk through our fields. There are other places to eat in the area from fine dining restaurants to fish and chips as well as several excellent pubs including, The Fox and Goose at Parracombe and The Exmoor Forest Inn at Simonsbath.
